I Can't Get No.. Satisfaction

This is a piece I did or "doodled" on Addictions.  I was working on an acrylic when I realized that I enjoyed doodling on cardboard much more.  So, I thought of the things that people get addicted to and mixed them all together.  Some are weird =) >>>>

What has been in my mind today is idea of other people stealing our joy.  I have caught myself either really annoyed with someone or frustrated by a comment to the point that my whole entire mood will change and I know this may be just human and natural but it shouldn't happen.  We should not give other people the satisfaction of taking our joy away just because they are having a crappy day and want to drag you down into it.  Don't let them be the master of what you feel.  I also look around at people striving to have approval whether it be boys or even other friends.  It breaks my heart to watch someone smiling over something they enjoy and then will turn away from it immediately if their "friend" doesn't.  Why would you allow someone to change what you enjoy just because they don't share the same feel about it?  People should be themselves and stop trying to change little parts of them to become like someone they "idolize."  I use that term lightly because it's strong but I don't know how else to put the way I see high school girls looking at other girls trying to change their appearance or even speech to act like their "idol."  We live in such a small little bubble and what people do not realize is that those "idols" are going to be thrown into the world just as far as the rest and will turn out a disappointment in the real world because what you may have thought was cool at your high school might not fit in at your college and then what are you going to do?  Your whole idea of what to do with yourself is shattered and you will have to find a new someone or something to be like.  This is why I think it is so important for us to push aside those wants of fitting in and accept people for who they are without trying to have the best of everyones personality because if you look elsewhere to find your identity you'll crash and burn.  Why?  Because no one is perfect and without Christ as the example for what we want to be like we will never be satisfied.  Ever. Ever. Ever.

i really really like this post alot. The fact that people put on all these different faces to appeal to different crowds or people really bothers me. i mean, if somebody doesnt like you then get over it! theres plenty of people out there that like you just for being yourself and theres no need to sacrifice your amazing personality, the thing that makes you, just for the approval of one of your peers. who cares what so and so think about you, the only person whos opinion truly matters is Christ, so i dont think one should go around changing the beautiful personality that God has provided one with. So thank you, cassidy, for the refreshing reminder. and sorry for kinda rambling off on your blog haha

God bless.
